Ireland is best to be explored with “wheels” . As we know the country like no other , TTI put together 3 self drive CAR TOURS, which will enable you to get acquainted with this beatiful island. We carefully selected our routes and obviously our accommodations. All you will have to do is drive and enjoy.

Suggestion: Add a ferry to this self drive car trip. We suggest either the landbridge from Stena Line or the combination of Seafrance and Irish Ferries.

This 8 day tour explores the West and North West, taking you through some of Irelands most spectacular countryside from the majestic Cliffs of Moher to the rugged highlands of Donegal. For this tour you can choose from our selected Hotels, Bed and Breakfast accommodation or a ‘Combined Stay’ that includes 2 nights in a Castle, one night in a Hotel and 4 nights in a Bed & Breakfast.

Locations Visited: Clare x 1 night / Connemara x 2 nights / Donegal x 2 nights / Galway x 1 night / Limerick x 1 night

Itinerary:

Day 1	Clare Arrive in Shannon and take the N18 via Bunratty to Ennis for your first night in Ireland.
Day 2	Clare to Galway After breakfast begin a tour of the Burren region, an area of fascinating limestone landscape. Drive northwards via Corofin and Lisdoonvarna. Take the coast road to the spectacular Cliffs of Moher then continue northwards along the coast via Ballyvaughan and Kinvara and then on to the city of Galway. Some free time in this lively University City before taking the road west into the heart of Connemara. Overnight in Connemara (if on ‘Combined Stay’ – stay in castle).
Day 3	Connemara Spend the entire day touring the spectacular region of Connemara. This rugged region possesses a beauty that is almost mystical. Take the coastal road from Clifden passing through the quaint villages of Roundstone and Ballynahinch. Continue on through Recess, Maam Cross, up to Leenane and back to Clifden stopping en route to visit the palatial glory of Kylemore Abbey. Overnight in Connemara (in on ‘Combined Stay’ – stay in castle).
Day 4	Connemara to Donegal Depart Clifden, travelling northwards via Westport, Castlebar and into Sligo. This town was the home to the famous Irish poet, W.B. Yeats and you can visit his grave and see his famous epitaph at Drumcliffe just outside Sligo. Then continue northwards via Cliffony and Mullaghmore to arrive in County Donegal. Overnight in County Donegal.
Day 5	Donegal Spend today touring the Donegal region. This part of Ireland is probably least well known to visitors and thus gives a rare insight into Irish culture and heritage. Travel out towards the coast via Killybegs. At Glencolmkille you can visit the Folk Village. From there, drive northwards via Ardara, Glenties and through the Derryveagh Mountains to Glenveagh Castle and Folk Park. Overnight in County Donegal.
Day 6	Donegal to Galway Depart Donegal travelling south through Tubercurry, Claremorris, Tuam and Galway where you will stay overnight. With possible visits to Foxford Woollen Mills and Ballintubber Abbey en route.
Day 7	Galway to Limerick This morning maybe take a relaxing cruise on Lough Corrib. Depart Galway taking the N18 to Limerick via Gort and Ennis. Spend some time in this Viking city visiting such attractions as St. Johns Castle and the Limerick Municipal Museum. Overnight in Limerick.
Day 8	Goodbye to Ireland Your last day. You make way to the ferry port for your return journey or stay a little longer on this green island.
